Can someone really repair bad credit on their own?
An associate has some tardy payments and some old credit card bills as well as an erroneous item on his credit. How can this be fixed? He does not have the mone for a lawyer and those companies that say they “repair bad credit” are sometimes a fraud. Help me to assist him.
Answers:
You are the only person who can repair bad credit. Make your paments on time. Pay back outstanding balances. Try not to file bankruptcy. Don’t own a lot of available credit. Be conservative with your money.
Yes, You certainly can. I was able to do this on my own and it did not cost me a thing to pay some company. All I did was search online for all three credit reporting agencies: Experian, Transunion and Equifax. I analyzed my credit reports and ninety percent of the time all three reports would be reporting differently, which is no surprise that they screw up all the time. I contacted each one telling them to fix and correct my details and then they are required to by law send you an additional credit report telling you what they have fixed. And if you receive this back again make sure you contact them again with the your confirmation number and keep requesting them to correct the incorrect information and by law they have to look into this item for you.
The second thing to do is call the companies that you owe on your credit reports and many of these companies will not post their phone number, but do not quit. Companies are all over the internet and you can find customer service phone numbers all the time if you search under their name. Once in a while if it does not show the phone number I have called Equifax, Experian and Transunion and asked for these and sometime they possess the phone number somewhere on their computer network because I have gone and asked them for it. Be sure you then contact the companies that you owe and talk with them but do not give up too much information, just tell them you want to work out a payment plan and this is as much as, maybe 20 dollars a month or whatever he can afford and then pay it all off in full. Some companies will wave all the late fees and interest that has accumulated on the account to let you in good faith reimburse the bill back. I have been able to do this and I owed over t!
wenty thousand; trust me it works. I told them how much I was going to pay and at what times and they should listen, and if they threaten you and call you requesting more that is against the federal law and you could sue them for harrasment. Many lawyers will repair bad credit for free because they know they can get a lot of money from the credit reporting agencies nowadays. The credit reporting agencies are playing hardball with our credit and it is about time to stand up and make them clean up their messes they have created for all us hard-working people that just want to repair bad credit scores. So call around and check if anybody does pro-bono on this sort of consumer lawsuit. Also if he has open cards that he uses and pays on or has not used in a while, whatever you do, do not close these if he has to pay back money on them because the credit score will decrease significantly. Take my recommendation and really work the system because you are able to get your credit re!
